1. United Kingdom — Legal Status

CBD (cannabidiol) is not a controlled substance in the United Kingdom. YCBD products are manufactured from industrial hemp (Cannabis Sativa L.) and are legal to sell, purchase, and possess in Great Britain and Northern Ireland, provided they meet the requirements outlined below.

Our products comply with:

• The Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 (as amended) — all products contain ≤0.2% THC
• The Misuse of Drugs Regulations 2001 (as amended)
• The Psychoactive Substances Act 2016 — hemp-derived CBD is explicitly exempt
• The Food Safety Act 1990 — products are safe for human consumption
• The Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003 — products are sold as food supplements

2. FSA Novel Food Compliance

Following guidance from the UK Food Standards Agency (FSA), CBD extracts and isolates are classified as "novel foods" under Retained Regulation (EU) 2015/2283 (as retained in UK law). A novel food is any food that was not widely consumed in the UK before 15 May 1997.

Since 31 March 2021, CBD businesses must hold a validated novel food application to legally sell CBD food supplements in England, Wales, and Scotland. YCBD Ltd holds a validated novel food application and our products are listed on the FSA's CBD validated products list.

3. THC Content & Testing

All YCBD products are tested for THC content on every production batch. Our products contain ≤0.2% THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol) in compliance with UK and EU legal thresholds. Testing is conducted by an independent, ISO/IEC 17025:2017-accredited laboratory.

We test for:

• Full cannabinoid profile: CBD, CBDA, CBG, CBC, CBN, THC, THCA, THCV
• Total THC (THC + 87.7% × THCA) — must be ≤0.2%
• Heavy metals: lead (Pb), arsenic (As), cadmium (Cd), mercury (Hg)
• Pesticide residues (EU MRL compliance, 380+ compounds screened)
• Mycotoxins: aflatoxins B1, B2, G1, G2 and ochratoxin A
• Microbiological contaminants: total aerobic count, yeast/mould, E. coli, Salmonella
• Residual solvents (ICH Q3C limits)

4. Hemp Sourcing — EU Certification

All hemp used in YCBD products is grown from Cannabis Sativa L. varieties listed in the EU Common Catalogue of Varieties of Agricultural Plant Species, as required under EU Regulation No. 1307/2013 and Delegated Regulation (EU) No. 639/2014.

Our hemp is sourced from certified farms in Switzerland and the Netherlands, operating under EU organic certification standards. Varieties used include: Fedora 17, Felina 32, Finola, and Futura 75 — all approved, low-THC varieties. Farm certifications are available upon request.

5. European Union — Legal Status

For customers purchasing from EU member states, the following applies:

• EU Novel Food Regulation (EU) 2015/2283: CBD extracts are classified as novel foods in the EU. We hold applicable authorisation documentation for EU market supply.
• THC Limits: Our products contain ≤0.2% THC, complying with the current EU threshold under Regulation (EC) No. 1308/2013. Note the European Court of Justice (Kanavape ruling, 2020) clarified that CBD is not a narcotic.
• Country Variations: While CBD is generally legal across the EU, some member states impose additional regulations. Customers are responsible for verifying local laws in their country of residence.

6. Advertising Compliance

YCBD's marketing and advertising materials comply with:

• UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) / CAP Code
• EU Regulation (EC) 1924/2006 on nutrition and health claims
• MHRA guidelines on medicinal claims

YCBD does not make any authorised or unauthorised medicinal claims. Our products are not medicines and have not been assessed by the MHRA or EMA. All marketing refers to CBD as a food supplement only.

7. Age Restriction

YCBD products are sold to adults aged 18 and over only. We implement an age verification gate on our website and reserve the right to request proof of age. Orders placed by persons under 18 will be cancelled and fully refunded. We do not market CBD products to persons under 18.
